San Patrizio Livorno Festival (SPLF) Confirms Media Partnership with the Samuel Beckett Society for 2025 Edition (#SPLF25)

Patrick Bixby, President of the Samuel Beckett Society, expressed his support for the partnership, stating:

The unwavering commitment of the festival organisers is matched by their creative vision, which brings the best of Irish culture, past and present, to Italian audiences. The San Patrizio Livorno Festival takes the annual celebration of the nation’s patron saint as an opportunity to present an array of dramatic and musical productions, featuring some of Ireland’s most talented performers. Each spring, the festival also welcomes renowned guests from the realm of Irish letters, including the likes of John Banville, Paula Meehan, Theo Dorgan, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Catherine Fitzgerald, Peter Murphy, and Stephen James Smith.

The Samuel Beckett Society’s decision to support SPLF25 highlights the festival’s dedication to honouring the legacy of the Nobel laureate Samuel Beckett. As Bixby further noted:

The Samuel Beckett Society has chosen to support the festival because it not only honours the legacy of our namesake Nobel laureate, but also provides an important new site for Irish culture on the global stage.

This partnership underscores the San Patrizio Livorno Festival’s role as a vital cultural bridge, connecting Irish literary and artistic excellence with audiences in Italy and beyond.Once again I am excited and proud to have the Samuel Beckett Society as media partner of the festival

Said Federico Platania, ‘resident Beckettian’ of the San Patrizio Livorno Festival, part of the SPLF Board and creator and curator of samuelbeckett.it.

The collaboration will include exclusive content, insights, and discussions surrounding Samuel Beckett’s work and influence, further enriching the festival’s diverse program.

As we prepare for the 2025 edition, we are excited to continue fostering meaningful connections between Ireland and Italy through the arts, and we are honoured to have the Samuel Beckett Society as a key partner in this journey.
