This is what we’re aiming to create with our Italo-Irish AI group stemming from the San Patrizio Livorno Festival experience and environment.
This isn’t just about ‘nerd chatter.’ It’s about exploring AI’s role in artistic processes, grappling with the ethical and legal implications, and drawing connections to the philosophical insights of Nozick, Parfit, and yes, even St. Thomas Aquinas. Join us as we navigate the fascinating landscape where technology meets the humanities, shaping a discourse that’s as deep and rich as the history of AI itself. The only possible discourse to keep AI away from the dangers and threats it’s already posing.
John Banville Patron of the ITALO-IRISH AI Group
John Banville, the esteemed Patron of our group, is a celebrated Irish novelist and screenwriter. Over his illustrious career, he has received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions. In 2005, he won the Man Booker Prize for his novel “The Sea”. In 2013, he was honoured with the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature. Banville has also been appointed a Cavaliere of the Italian Republic’s Order of the Star of Italy, the highest honour for a non-Italian. His remarkable contributions to literature continue to inspire and elevate our cultural initiatives.
